How we rank clinics
Our regular provider results are ordered using the published method on this page. Advertising appears in separate, clearly labeled placements and is not part of the numbered ranking. Sponsorship does not change a provider’s calculated score or position in the regular results.
The score
Each clinic receives a score from 0 to 100, combining three components:
Patient rating
40% of scoreThe clinic’s Google rating, rescaled across the 3.0–4.6 band where real differences between clinics actually appear. Listings with fewer than five reviews are pulled toward a neutral value, because a perfect score from three people is not evidence.
Review volume
35% of scoreHow many patients have reviewed the clinic, on a logarithmic curve that saturates at 500. This keeps volume meaningful without letting one high-traffic chain location outrank every independent practice in a city.
Record completeness
25% of scoreWhether the listing has a phone number, website, street address, opening hours, a photo, and at least two identified services. Partly a signal that the practice is actively maintained, partly an honest measure of how useful the entry is to a reader.
Parameters
- Rating is rescaled across 3.0–4.6 stars.
- Review volume saturates at 500 reviews, on a base-10 logarithmic curve.
- Ratings from fewer than 5 reviews are pulled toward a neutral value.
What does not affect ranking
- Claiming does not provide a ranking boost. Factual updates may change a calculated score if they change an input used by our published method - for a clinic, the completeness component - but claim status itself is never an input.
- Basic listings are free. We offer sponsorships and clearly labeled advertising placements. Sponsors cannot buy a higher calculated score or a better position in the regular provider rankings.
- We do not author ratings or reviews. Every rating shown is Google review data, reproduced and attributed.
- JourneyMeds and Find GLP-1 Care Now share a parent company, Athena Certification Center LLC. JourneyMeds is scored on the same criteria as every other provider and holds its calculated position in the regular results. Any promotion of it appears separately, labeled as advertising - see our Terms of Service.
Which businesses we include
A directory built from a map scrape will, left alone, fill up with gyms, supplement shops and big-box pharmacy counters. Every candidate business is scored for relevance against its name, category, description and website, and must clear a threshold of 0.45 to be published. Businesses in excluded categories - retail chains, gyms, non-medical modalities, unrelated specialties, permanently closed locations - are rejected outright regardless of score.
Every rejection is logged with its reason. Currently 6,295 providers are published across 1,154 cities.
City pages
A city needs at least 4listed clinics before we present it as a ranked comparison. Below that, the page lists the clinics without ranking them - a page claiming to rank “the best” among two or three options would not be telling you anything. Cities with fewer than 5 clinics are excluded from search engines entirely.
Corrections
If your clinic is listed incorrectly, use the “Claim this listing” form on your page. The claim itself is verified against the practice before anyone is given access. After that the business edits its own listing directly and those corrections publish immediately; we read them afterwards. Claiming is free, and it does not change your position - see also our editorial policy.
